Show Your Pets Some Love This Valentine’s Day

Here at Aloha Veterinary Acupuncture, we believe that every day is a good day to show your pets some love. But, with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we want to highlight a few ways to help make your pet feel extra special this loving holiday.

Here are a few ways to show your pets some love this Valentine’s Day.

1. Play Games

Provide your pets with both physical and mental stimulation when you play games with them. Not to mention, playing games is an effective stress reliever for both you and your pet.

Find a few activities to keep your pet from getting bored, including:

  • Scent games

  • Hide-and-seek

  • Fetch

  • And more!

2. Help Them Conquer Fears

While most pet owners don’t often pay attention to pets and their fears unless they are a problem, it’s important to note that fear can manifest in several different ways in our pets. Show your pets extra care by enhancing their quality of life by helping them face their fears.

Work with a local behavior consultant to check for any fears that may be going unnoticed as well as ways to work through them together.

3. Pay Special Attention

Pay close attention to your pets’ body language to determine whether they are truly enjoying the activities they are participating in. You might notice they don’t enjoy the rough housing, games of fetch, or other activities, after all. Try out different activities until you find one they love.

4. Speak Their Language

Learn how to speak your pet’s language to communicate with them on another level. Seek out different animal behavior books available to learn more about speaking the language of your furry friends.

5. Pamper Your Pets

Last but not least, never forget to pamper your pets with a little extra love from time to time. Do whatever it is they love the most and do it often! Cherish every special moment you have with your furry friend and let them know you love them this Valentine’s Day!
